Hi all,

I’m looking for self failing winches to fit on the back of my boat in order to tension the jib and/or genua.
I now have the size 6 lewmar single speed winches and looking for replacement.
Does anybody have these self tailing winches on their boat? What size, brand., etc etc.
Would like to hear from you.

Best regards,
Stef

Hi Stef,
I know that Gerald (kabel69) has fit self tailing winches from Andersen at the rear of his Dehlya 25. They really work well.
I´m not sure if the winch size for the 22 (original Lewmar 6 single speed) is the same as on the 25.
Regards, Stascha

Hello Stef,

my English is not good, but I try it.

I have since 3 years two Andersen selftailing winches, size 12 in stainless steel. They working good on my Dehlya 25. The holes did not fit. I think, you have a Dehlya 22. The sails are smaller and I mean, a selftailing winch is not nessesary. A good combination is the original winch with a servo cleat. For example look here:

Best regards

Thanks for the reactions!
I think the clamp cleats are possibly the best solution for the DY22.
