First summer

Hello,
My German is not good enough, so this will be in English.
After looking around, we finally found us a dehlya 25 with a trailer and inboard diesel engine. We picked up the boat from the previous owner in the beginning of april. After that, it took nearly two months and a lot of paperwork to get the trailer registered in Belgium. Just before we left for Sweden, we had to take the boat back to the previous owner in holland so we could practise the setting up of the mast. 3 days later we took it on a 1450km drive to Bengtsfors in Sweden. The drive up there was good fun and our little vw transporter did ok with such a heavy trailer.
In Bengtsfors we arranged for a fixed place, costing us 100euro's for one year(what a difference compared to Zeeland). Putting the boat in the water was easier than expected with the sliptrailer and after a couple of hours we were ready to do our 'maiden' trip. Over the next seven weeks we did about 350nautical miles, half of these on engine power as there was not always enough wind. The longest trip we did was 10 days and we can say that the boat is perfect in size with two teenage children. We had lots of fun and stress as it is our first sailing boat so most of it was new for us. The lakes in the bengtsfors area are perfect for beginners like us, on average we would see 4 or 5 other sailing boats per day. In the evenings we found a place place in some small harbours and during daytime we looked for secluded places where we could drop anker. Summer ended to soon for us and now the boat is back in Belgium. We hope to take it to holland for some time, but next year the swedish lakes and west coast are back on the calander.
